Getting involved ...

At Sawley Infant and Nursery School we encourage parents and carers to become part of our school community. We aim to provide lots of opportunities for you to take part in our activities.

Some of our events and activities include:

  • parent workshops on different aspects of the curriculum
  • class assemblies
  • Sparkle & Shine assemblies
  • class and year group events such as 'tea and tissues' (when our new Reception pupils start school)
  • afternoon tea parties in class
  • coffee mornings
  • Christmas concerts
  • the annual Easter Bonnet Parade
  • the annual Summer Fayre
  • school trips
  • becoming a parent governor

There are lots of other ways you can get involved in the life of the school.

We greatly value the role that volunteers play in developing and supporting all aspects of school life.

In school, you can support in many different ways: reading volunteer, after school clubs, activities in class, school trips and visits etc.  These roles vary from a regular weekly commitment to an occasional session.

Our 'Friends of Sawley Infant & Nursery School' group also meets regularly to plan and support different events to help raise money for the school (see separate webpage).

We also advertise for Parent Governors when vacancies become available (see separate webpage).

Our Vacancies page advertises jobs when they become available.

If you would like to have a chat about how you might get involved, please contact the school office for further information or look out for requests for help in Newsletters, Parentmail and/or letters sent home with pupils.
