Our topic this half term is Transport and in literacy we will be listening to lots of stories linked to different types of transport.
Some of the stories we will be focusing on are Mr Gumpy's Motor Car, The Train Ride, Duck in a Truck, Whatever Next, Peppa Pig's Rocket and Who Sank The Boat.
We will be encouraging the children to continue to develop their speaking and listening skills by talking about what the characters are doing and relating this to their own experiences.
We are continuing to practice our name writing skills and appreciate your support at the beginning of each session. We are also encouraging lots of independent mark making through a range of activities both inside and outside.
In phonics we are developing the children's awareness of both environmental sounds and letter sounds. The letter sounds we focus on first are 's,a,t,p,i,n'.
