School Music Development Plan
All schools are encouraged to have a music development plan, as set out in the national plan for music education.
This is a summary of how our school delivers music education to all our pupils across three areas – curriculum music, co-curricular provision and musical experiences – and what changes we are planning in future years. We hope this information helps pupils and parents or carers understand what our school offers and who we work with to support our pupils’ music education.
Music Curriculum
At Sawley Infant and Nursery School, our Music curriculum is planned in termly units. We have strategically reviewed the Music Curriculum, based on the National Curriculum and Charanga Music Scheme materials. We have identified Core Categories to clarify Key Aspects of learning in Music and support our REAL curriculum offer.
