Sawley Infant School

Admissions to Sawley Infant School are processed by the Local Authority as part of the Derbyshire Coordinated Admissions Scheme. The Admissions link below will open the Derbyshire County Council Primary Admissions page where you will find guidance about application dates and access to online application forms for school places.   Applications can also be made via post or over the phone.

A place at Sawley Infant School does not guarantee a place at Sawley Junior School. We are two separate schools - both part of Willows Academy Trust. 

 

Details of application dates & offer dates are published when they become available each year.  These can be found on the DCC website admissions pages. 

 

If you would like to make an in-year admission to move or change schools, please contact the DCC admissions team at any point in the year. 

 

If you would like to appeal against a decision, please scroll down the page for further information on making an appeal.

 

If your child attends a school outside of Derbyshire it may operate a different pattern of education.  Please see the DCC website or contact the school for further information.

Admissions 2023/24

 

For admissions in September 2023/24:

  • The application round opens on Monday 7th November 2022 and closes at midnight on 15th January 2023

  • The offer date for the September 2023 intake is 17th April 2023 (National Offer Day) 

  • If you apply online you'll also be able to log on to the website from this date to view your offer.

  • If you don't have an email address, your offer will be posted second class on 17th April 2023

Admissions 22-23 (In-Year Admissions)

For admissions in September 2024/25:

  • The application round opens on Monday 6th November 2023 and closes at midnight on 15th January 2024 (National Closing Date) 

  • The offer date for the September 2024 intake is 16th April 2024 (National Offer Day) 

  • If you apply online you'll also be able to log on to the website from this date to view your offer.

  • If you don't have an email address, your offer will be posted second class on 16th April 2024

Appeals

 

If you're unhappy with the decision you can make a primary school admissions appeal

 

2022/23 (in-year admissions only)

  • If your appeal relates to an in-year admission you should submit your appeal within 28 days of being told that your application was unsuccessful. 

 

2023/24 application round

  • If your appeal is for a child transferring to a junior school or starting an infant or primary school in September 2023 and you are told of the decision on 17th April 2023 (National Offer Day) you should submit your appeal by 15th May 2023. 

  • If you are told of an infant, junior or primary decision after 17th April 2023 or it relates to an in-year admission you should submit your appeal within 28 days of being told that your application was unsuccessful. 

 

2024/25 application round

  • If your appeal is for a child transferring to a junior school or starting an infant or primary school in September 2024 and you are told of the decision on 16th April 2024 (National Offer Day) you should submit your appeal by 15th May 2024.
