Information about our role and responsibilities can be found in the Leadership Section here
Being a school governor is a challenging and rewarding role. We come from different backgrounds and bring different experiences and skills to the board but we all share the common goal to work together with school leaders to make our school special and give all our children a strong start to their education journey and support their personal development.
If you interested in becoming a school governor you are welcome to come and have a chat with us at any time to find out more about the role and what it involves. Please make contact via the school office to make an appointment with the chair of governors (Laura Jones) or the clerk to the governors (Diane Dakin) - no commitment required!
We currently meet 4 times a year at 4pm on Mondays for a couple of hours. In addition, there is the opportunity to come into school to fulfil your role and get involved in school life.
We offer full induction and training to support you in your role.
We advertise when we have vacancies and all parents/carers of children at school are eligible to stand for election and vote. We advertise through Parentmail and on the website.
Community governors are appointed by the governing board and support the board with their experience, skills and expertise.
Perhaps you feel you could not commit to being a full governor but have skills that you could share with us? We are always interested in welcoming associate governors who can offer their expertise to support particular aspects of school life.
We are currently advertising for parent governors. If you are interested, please download a self-nomination form. You will need to complete and submit the form (either hard copy or email) by Monday 13th January at 12 noon.
Please read the information about being a governor and the Declaration of Eligibility before applying.
